The Anvils on SABC 1's LIVE and a new Jingle for Rhyme and Reason

When MC Lyte came through with "keep on keeping on", i didnt realise how much this statement would mean to the cats i hang out with, in the later years o ma life. The Anvils, not only have they been dominating the Local radio airwaves, mainly with reference to Yfm (hot 9 @ 9 and The bridge) and also metro fm's Rhyme and Reason.
They just keep on keeping on, as this past week, they went on to record a new Jingle for Rhyme and Reason. i just heard the 16 bars, i aint heard the finished product yet, so be on the lookout for that.

they also have a promo on Live tonight that they recorded some time during the week. and apparently there are some even bigger news coming up, so keep ur eyes glued to the Blog for your exclusive Anvils and Beat Oven News.

The Beat Oven Mixtape Launches

The beat Oven is a Hiphop DJ from PTA aka Cap City and has been at it for years now and decided to start a series of mixtapes called "straight from the oven", where he tries to put together a sound that he likes thats not too commercial but at the same time pleasing to even the ear of an average hiphop listener.

Volume 4, which is his latest project, has seen him colaborate with local producers and inviting SA's most talked about emerging hiphop talent to be featured on this mixtape, from Cape Town's Driemanskaap, Port Elizabeth's ABANTU, Durban's Black Moss, JHB's S.O.S, The Federation, TANG, Seida Croock and R-senic and PTA's Finest from RAS, AQ, Killa M, Stas, The Anvils and Damola.

Well the final product, you judge for yourself, you can download it on www.loadtheshow.com/show/The_Beat_Oven, but what the feedback has been like, is nothing short of Crazy, and the great thing about it, everyone has a fav song on the mixtape which makes the project very balanced.

So far Hype has given it 4 out of 5 mics, Streetsheet.co.za compares it to the next best thing after motherload and showlove.co.za calls it a classic. Recently ventilation.co.za has called it the best mixtape they've heard this year. With launches planned for the whole of SA, only numbers will tell, so far, PTA, NEWTOWN, SOWETO, SEBOKENG, DURBAN, PMB and recently, PE have seen the mixtape come live, lookout for a date near u.

The PE gig was held at Spotted COw (SILK LOUNGE) on the 3rd of April, with the show headlined by live performances from The Anvils, ABANTU, 100% Blaq, Re4maz, Qalazive and with The Beat Oven on the decks.

The show was a great success according to the feedback that we received. this blog will keep you updated with the future Launches including the pictures and videos.
the next launches are planned for Bloemfontein and Cape Town. we are seriously working hard to also have two extra dates in Mpumalanga and Pietersburg.
